About Granby Lane Studio
Granby Lane Studio was founded as a pandemic side project by Gregory Nolan. His pre-covid profession as a touring music photographer has informed his approach to design - including highlighting the grit and behind-the-scenes to find the beauty and the more complex story. In all projects, imperfections in the wood are strategically celebrated - making life’s wear and tear a central feature of the work.
Granby Lane Studio’s designs center on reclaimed and recycled wood projects that create a resonance between the wood’s previous life and the newly imagined piece. Twenty-year-old cedar fences become rustic outdoor tables. Boards salvaged from a 100-year-old home become elegant writers’ desks. Discarded church pews and abandoned furniture are reimagined as pieces that are both functional and beautiful. Most recently, trees downed in the 2021 ice storm will become pieces that celebrate our resilience as we move out of tough times and into better ones.

Seamus Nolan.
The original Granby Lane was a carpentry shop in Dublin, Ireland founded in the late 1800s. Gregory’s grandfather, Seamus Nolan, learned his trade and then worked alongside half a dozen members of his extended family. Gregory grew up in Dublin but has called Oregon home since 2015. Seamus passed away just before the pandemic began, and Granby Lane Studio carries on partly in his name and as one of the many legacies, he left in this world.

Granby Lane Studio furniture is currently available only in Oregon’s Willamette Valley - no shipping yet available. Please contact us with questions and requests. Because of the variation in reclaimed wood, new pieces will not exactly match photos.
